Dog Birthday Cake

Because dogs love to PAWty too!  This cake is simple and easy to whip up for your furry friends birthday. This can be made into a cake or cupcakes..no matter how you make it I promise your pup will LOVE it!!!

Ingredients

For cake

• 1C whole wheat flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/4C peanut butter
• 1/4C veggie oil
• 1/2C shredded carrots
• 1/2C shredded apple
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1/3C honey
• 1 egg

For frosting

• 4oz cream cheese
• 1/2C peanut butter
• 1 ripe banana

Directions

3) Add in all other cake ingredients to medium bowl and mix until combined

5) Place in preheated oven as bake 35 min for a 6″ cake pan or 25 min for a 8″ car pan or 20-22min if making cupcakes

6) While cake bakes- set out cream cheese to soften. Once softened, in a small bowl combine the cream cheese, 1 banana broken into pieces and 1/2C of peanut butter and using a hand mixer, mix until smooth and fluffy

7) When cake it done, remove from oven as let rest 5 min then turn out onto a cooling rack and allow it to cool completely before frosting

8) When cool, place on plate and frost. Add dog treats around the edges and crushed dog treats as sprinkles on top.
